Richardson Ovbiebo works in many mediums, but is best known for his sculptures. Composed with colors and forms that flirt with international art movements, these works remain entrenched in a context that undoubtably speaks of Lagos. Using materials purchased at landfills, industrial scrap yards and fine art stores, his work is a hybrid process and conceptual reference. His particular perspectives and techniques congeal to channel universal tropes of humanness and various art histories. (Curator: Temitayo Ogunbiyi)
