Olá Atunbi 2020 - February
Olá Atunbi is a multidisciplinary artist who has found voice through drawing and storytelling. Using his distinct ability to combine unorthodox variations from screen print to collagraph, enamels, plastic paints with dry media; this gives him space to explore ideas and subject matter on alternative surfaces, making his process metaphoric of an alchemist's transformation of lead into "gold".

John Madu (b.1983) is a multidisciplinary artist born in Lagos, Nigeria. Through his figurative symbolic and portraiture paintings, he uses personal and recognisable iconography as metaphors and connects his thematic concerns with the aid of bold colours, textures and indigenous patterns. His work examines the complexity of identity, social behaviors and the effects of cultural globalisation on individualism.

Joseph Obanubi (b.1994) is a Lagos-based multimedia visual artist. He studied graphic design at the University of Lagos where he obtained a bachelors and masters degree in 2015 and 2017 respectively. With a background in advertising and graphic design, his works explore identity, fantasy, a mix of reality and delusion within the context of globalization. His approach is mostly surreal and Afro-futuristic, to give new insight to ways of seeing things.
He was recently announced as the winner of the Big Pitch competition organized by the British Council, Nigeria
Anthea Epelle - December
Self-taught artist Anthea Epelle (b.1972) creates paintings employing mainly oil on canvas. Born in London, England, Anthea schooled in Lagos and Port Harcourt and later studied Fashion, Design and Technology at The London College of Fashion, UK. She is inspired by expressions, texture, patterns, and alignment; all of which are reflective in her abstract and figurative work.

Nwachukwu Ike’s art straddles drawing, painting and mixed media. Born in Lagos, 1962, Ike has been practicing art since 1980 and counts Japanese master printmaker Munio Makuchi and Nigerian legend Bruce Onabrakpeya as some of his influencers.

Morakinyo Femi is captivated by African culture, beliefs and traditions. Born 1984 in Ondo State, Nigeria, Femi is a painter and full-time art director at a leading digital agency in Nigeria.
A Fine Art graduate of Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Morak later developed his interest in graphic design and unique stylized painting employing acrylic, oil and charcoal mediums.
Bob-Nosa Uwagboe - August
Multidisciplinary artist and leader of the Protest Art Studio, Bob-Nosa Uwagboe uses art as a tool to raise pertinent issues in order to begin the cycle that will incite social change.
Born 1974 in Benin - Edo State, Bob uses a variety of materials – acrylic, spray paint, crayon, charcoal and oils – and also incorporates everyday objects and materials, including artificial hair, clothes, ropes, sacks and sand. His paintings oscillate between the abstract and the representational, with figures formed through basic, elemental forms that act as ambiguous and ghostly presences.
Obi Chigozie - July
Lagos based artist Obi Chigozie creates paintings, drawings and digital illustrations employing oil as her primary medium. Born 1997, Obi holds a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Lagos.
Obi incorporates colour, figures and portraits to convey ideas which often reflect on the issues she faces and matters that affect the people around her. Emotion is a big influence on Obi and when studying her work, she intends to make the viewers feel the vehemence the subject carries.
Dipo Doherty - June
Nigerian born artist Dipo Doherty believes we need to unmask nature’s true identity by digging beyond the physical to reveal its secrets. He is fascinated by quantum physics and geometry and is on an abstract exploration of the human anatomy with his art.
A BS graduate of the University of Virginia, Dipo borrows from various artists, economies, multicultural narratives and new scientific concepts in his work. As his practice leads him to new forms of media, like his experiments with burnt rulers, painting is Dipo’s primal form of expression.
Tayo Olayode - May
Tayo Olayode (b. 1970) is a self-taught experimental artist from Lagos, Nigeria. His experimentation occurs through vigorous research and consistent use of a variety of materials resulting in abstract, realist and surrealist works.
A Fine Art graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Tayo’s approach is influenced by masters from different school of thoughts, including the Late Fred Achibong, Abayomi Barber and Abidodun Olaku. In his twenty years practicing as a full time studio artist, Tayo’s paintings are most identified by his subtle yet vibrant use of lines in representing his figures.
Logor Oluwamuyiwa - April
Logor Oluwamuyiwa, born 1990 in Ondo State, Nigeria, is a sharp-witted observer of the human carnival. Armed with his camera at all times, he captures and retells stories from perspectives that are often overlooked.
An advocate for positive and rich storytelling through digital media, Logor’s intent is to rehash his experiences through nostalgic reportage, using conceptual and documentary style photography.
Yadichinma Ukoha-Kalu - March
Yadichinma Ukoha-Kalu, born in Nigeria, 1995, studies lines and forms to question the world and navigate the experience of discovery. An experimental artist, her varied mediums include digital media, film, painting, photography and sculpture. Her work is in constant evolution as she is inspired by the theme of change.
Yadi uses research and documentation of everyday life to instruct her creations, resulting in true exploratory experiences taking place in imaginary spaces.
